Inspired by the wonders of nature, Hedva Ser created a Bronze Tree of Peace, which stretches its branches to heaven, as if to implore it, filled with symbols intended to bring men closer together and restore peace to all the peoples.

The first element of the Tree of Peace is the “Chai,” which in the Bible, signifies life.
The second element is the “Shin,” which in Hebrew, is the first letter of the word “Shalom,” and in Arabic, the first letter of the word, “Salam.”
The third element of the sculpture of the tree is the dove, messenger of hope and liberty, sitting on a branch, ready to fly, to call for peace and love between peoples.
And, finally, a crescent moon, symbol of Islam.

The Tree of Peace in public places where people come together, calls to our consciences and can bring men to reflect about peace, making it part of our daily dialogue.
The Tree of Peace is universal, and has been inscribed as a symbol of understanding between nations. It aspires to resolve conflicts, as well as to celebrate peace between the peoples of the world.
The Tree of Peace has also become one of the symbols of Peace to UNESCO.

"On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, which is celebrated on 21 September, the President of the Republic of Greece, Mr. Procope Pavlopoulos, the Mayor of Athens, Mr. Kostas Bakoyannis and the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO, Ms. Marianna Vardinoyannis, the sculpture of Hedva Ser, Goodwill Ambassador and Special Envoy for Cultural Diplomacy of UNESCO, the Tree of Peace was planted on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Rizareios Park in full heart of Athens.

The sculpture is a gift from the association "ELPIDA, Hope-Friends of Children with Cancer" to the city of Athens on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its creation.

Mrs Vardinoyannis spoke about this special work of art, which speaks in all the languages of the world, the Tree of Peace is now a symbol of the vision of hope for a world of peace, a world of love for children, dialogue and cooperation of peoples.

For Hedva Ser, the Tree of Peace represents a renewal of the planet, the renewal of the spirituality of human thought and the renewal of nature by the tree. It is therefore also a response to current concerns about nature in general, global warming, biodiversity and massive deforestation. It reminds us of the fragility of nature and that our duty is to preserve the cycle of life. The Tree of Peace aspires to resolve conflicts and celebrate peace among the peoples of the world. Ms. Vardinoyannis and Ms. Ser have even announced that they intend to launch a joint effort to create the Peace Road for Peace Education around the world, under the auspices of UNESCO. Here is a proof of the collaboration between 2 UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors. "
